Mid State Rodders Pioneer Award

A big crowd was on hand for awards presentation at the 2008 Mid State Roders Car Show in Pelahatchie. The number and quality of the cars was excellent and the weather could not have been more perfect. One big surprise that the Mid State Roders had up their sleeves was to present their first annual Pioneer Award. This award is given to Hot Roders who through their innovation and dedication, made their car go faster. These innovations became the standards for racers of today.

This year’s awards went to two very deserving race car builders from the 1960’s and 1970’s, Lawrence "Roundman" Chambless and Buddy Taylor.
